Donington Angling Club
Club Newsletter August 2021
First of all, can we thank all our members who have paid their fees and made themselves part of the club. At the writing of this letter, I am pleased to inform you that we have 35 paid members in just 10 weeks.

Club Logo
We have voted upon a Club Logo, as above and are in the process of arranging for club merchandise to made in due course which will be available to try for size on Wednesday 1st September. Order forms for garments will be available at the same time. We hope that our members will be willing to wear these at competitions and socially to raise the profile of the club.

Funding
All grant applications have been successful. The bank account is in a healthy position to develop the club in the future. The next round of funding is soon becoming available, ideas of spending to be considered to be brought forward by 17th September to either Chairperson or Secretary.

Other News and Future Plans We now have a club email address to make communication easier and we are also in the process of discussing other methods.
Working Party a few members have assisted with Peg Maintenance at one of the local fisheries, as a result of this we have now received confirmation of sponsorship for Hi-Vis vests for future use.
We currently investigating a local charter boat in Boston with the aim of organising a sea fishing trip in the wash.
Discussions are taking place and actions plans are being agreed upon for the initial installation of two wheelchair access platforms to be installed at the brick pit. Other quotes relating to the platforms are being sought to enable enhancement of the pit for future use.
Stuart at the Brick Pit is looking to carry out platform replacements at the end of October to which club members have offered their support.
It has been suggested that we have a first aid kit that has now been purchased for leisure competitions.
We are currently seeking suggestions for tabletop training/activities to be held at headquarters during the winter months.
Martin and Gemma have passed their Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety for Catering Courses in preparation for our club BBQ and any other future catering requirements. Well, done to both.
