PUBLIC FORUM
Concerns raised about two willow trees posing health and safety risks due to splitting in the Skate Park; confirmed it is the Parish Council’s responsibility for maintenance. Query who to contact for public footpath and parking, these need to be directed to Lincolnshire County Council, Highways.
Discussion on dredging issues in local dykes due to debris affecting water flow. Funding for cutting bushes in the Skatepark is pending; works are scheduled for mid-September with money needed to be utilised by the end of the month.
Request for a £200 donation towards Christmas lights was proposed for discussion at the next meeting.
Request for speed awareness signs in the village, to be discussed at the next meeting. Zebra crossing lights at High School, issue to be added to the ward walk list for Cllr J King. Plans for a ward walk and police surgery scheduled for September 16th. Concerns regarding retrospective planning applications for residential developments; emphasis on parking issues raised.
TO RECEIVE UPDATES FROM DISTRICT COUNCILLORS Cllr N. Campbell provided update on behalf of Cllr J. King, A52 Road Closure signs posted for 24-hour closure due to dry weather and road undulation. Closure expected for a full week. Details will be posted on social media. Recent break in at the Bowls Club, persons identified and dealt with.
TO RECEIVE UPDATES FROM COUNTY COUNCILLOR
Discussed transfer the Skatepark land to Donington Parish Council. Skatepark update to come to the next meeting. Will require a request from the Parish to South Holland District Council.
73/25 TO RECEIVE APOLOGIES were received and accepted from Cllrs M. Rollinson and J. King and S Walsh. The Clerk Clare Proudfoot.
74/25 TO RECEIVE DECLARATION OF INTEREST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCALISM ACT 2011

75/25 TO RECEIVE DRAFT NOTES OF MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 4th September 2025– Were signed as a true copy, to become minutes. Proposed Cllr Lunn seconded Cllr Harris.
76/25 TO RECEIVE CLERK’S REPORT ON MATTERS ARISING AND UPDATES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS – confirmation that the .gov.uk emails are now all set up. These will be sent out to Cllrs, who will need to set their passwords which will be placed in sealed envelopes. No further update on the cemetery fence boundary dispute.
77/25 To discuss the purchase of a trail camera for littering/fly tipping issues. Resolved to go into closed session at the end of the meeting. Proposed Cllr Geaney seconded Cllr Harris

a) Cemetery – contractor to be contacted for another strim of the vegetation

d) IDEA – waiting for the RoSPA report. Firework Display booked for 3rd November. To advise if Firemen are activivating fireworks for insurance company.
e) Library – numbers are increasing, and the library is being used by more groups for their meetings
f) Planning – retrospective planning application for 11 Church Street, two-storey building for 3 flats. Concerns raised regarding lack of parking for the flats.
g) Red Cow Paddock – nothing to report
80/25 TO RECEIVE MEMBERS REPORTS
NC – complaint received on visibility of speed signs going out of Donington towards Quadring, due to trees on private properties.
Received letter from a resident warning of suspicious activity in the village at night and break ins.
DH – commented on the upcoming road closures and speed limits
81/25 TO RECEIVE CORRESPONDENCE
Public meeting regarding local government reorganisation and questionnaire to complete from South Holland District Council. Correspondence on devolution and potential for 3 areas.
82/25 TO RESOLVE TO MOVE INTO CLOSED SESSION – it was resolved to not proceed with the purchase of trail cameras for practical and legal reasons.
