Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 1st June 2022 at The Ruby Hunt Centre.

Present Cllrs Stanley, Hodgson, King, Lovell, Lunn, Robinson MBE, Rollinson, L & R Wray.  Clerk Diane Fairweather

PUBLIC FORUM

Complaints again of the ness in the Market Place.  Cllr King to speak with contractor with the need of perhaps getting someone else to do works. Bed then to be filled with plants and chippings from a local firm.

Dog pooh a problem in the Market Place.

48/22 APOLOGIES were received and accepted from Cllrs Burdall and Hawkins.

49/22 TO RECEIVE declaration of interest in accordance with the localism act 2011

50/22 TO RECEIVE DRAFT NOTES OF LAST MEETING – Following a couple of amendments to committee representations were signed as a true copy, to become minutes.  Proposed Cllr Lunn, seconded Cllr Rollinson.

51/22 TO RECEIVE UPDATES FROM CLERK –   

Parking company.  All paperwork agreed, signs to be delivered during the coming week.

Have to in place a week before evidence can be sent to them.

52/22 TO DISCUSS/APPROVE MEMORIAL BENCH FOR QUEENS JUBILEE

Various designs brough to table.  Proposed Cllr Rollinson, seconded Cllr King a metal design with the platinum emblem on at a cost of £1075 to be erected in Market Place where ‘phone box had been removed.  All in agreement.

53/22 TO RECEIVE UPDATES FROM iDEA

CCTV now working. Found that one existing camera was not working, and a request made that IDEA request grant from remaining section 106 monies be given to replace.  Agenda item next meeting.   Wind Farm Grant applied to for repairs in kiddies play area. Litter Picker advised that half term always carries the burden of additional rubbish.

54/22 TO APPROVE FINANCE PAYMENTS Bank £102502.42

Council payments authorised as per schedule, with additional £118 for street bunting.

55/22 TO RECEIVE Library UPDATES

Holding an event on Saturday for Jubilee

56/22 TO DISCUSS Planning APPLICATIONS RECEIVED THIS MONTH.

Cllr King had requested the development off Maple Way go to committee.

57/22 TO RECEIVE MEMBERS REPORTS  

JS – new plants for tubs in Market Place had once again been donated, help required to plant please.  Cemetery and graveyard overgrown.  Clerk to speak with contractors as appears nothing done for three weeks now.

PL – Town status.  Cllr Lovell and King looking into.  Cllr Lovell still cannot trace when Town status was removed from Donington.

JH – TCHS to change name to an academy.  Cowley Trustees had been invited to meet with and be introduced to new Head.  Cllr Rollinson and King commented on how well she came across and would be good for school.

GL – children doing ‘wheelies’ in the dark in Church Street are an accident waiting to happen.  Unfortunately, PC have no control over them.  Cllr Lovel advised in the Isle of Man, Police station look a likes are placed in various places which proves quite successful.

MR -commented Facebook appears to be having more success on the Community page as on the PC page.  Cllr Burdall had advised that there appears to be too many for the village and would amalgamate the two the PC have control over.

JK – Cllr received four requests for speed indicators to be brought into the village.  Will investigate Road Safety Partnership

LW – with involvement with Community Centre has received emails from Young Dons asking if Police could speak with the group of young people that are causing upset and shouting abuse at the footballers when training.  Cllr King to speak with PCSO.

58/22 TO RECEIVE CORRESPONDENCE

Cllr Burdall has been sourcing a chair for the late owner of the Flower Shop in the Market Place and has asked if it can be positioned in the Market Place outside the eye specialist?  She has spoken with them, and they agree with this.  Donations have been received for the seat and the Parish Council agreed to purchase it with those funds as it is to be placed on PC property and needs to be included on the insurance.
