Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 7th February 2019 at the Ruby Hunt Centre Donington.
Present Couns Baldwin, Almond, Hawkins, King, Lovell, Lunn, Robinson, Rollinson Stanley and Wray. 2 members of the public and a press representative.
PUBLIC FORUM
Margaret Wright. FF has secured a grant of £250 towards a tap in the Teen Park, but asking permission if a tap can be installed, at their cost. Council agreed acceptable Coun King to check with SHDC Edward Finch, disappointed that no applications made to Triton Knoll in the first round. Some ideas that could be applied for, a bus shelter and community website. If agreed, towards the cost of getting Matthew Flinders home.
9/19 APOLOGIES were received and accepted from Coun Marshall and Police
10/19 POLICE REPORT – mud on A52
11/19 DRAFT NOTES OF LAST MEETING – Were signed as a true copy, to become minutes. Proposed Coun Stanley seconded Coun Hawkins.
12/19 MATTERS ARISING –
Following site meeting with planning and Couns Baldwin and Lovell, it was agreed the road did pincer at one point but only had plans to work on. Highways made no comment.
13/19 TO DISCUSS PAY INCREASE FOR LITTER PICKER
Paid minimum wage, currently £7.83, increasing to £8.21 in April. Due to sterling work proposed Coun Rollinson seconded Coun King increase hourly rate to £9
14/19 TO RECEIVE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA
Coun Almond presented a trial of the unpublished web page showing news of Matthew Flinders. Will only be to put out information to the public not to receive any mail. All agreed the only outcome would be to trial it for six months, to see if successful. Proposed Coun Rollinson seconded Coun Lovell.
15/19 IDEA
Success with £6,000 grant application to Triton Knoll for children’s play area. Accountants have to stay this year at an approx. cost of £1500. Changes made in Articles of Addendum.

17/19 CORRESPONDENCE -
Another request for volunteers for the Community Speed Watch initiative trained and ready for the Spring.
18/19 ANY OTHER BUSINESS –.
Thought needs to be given regarding rainwater collection as may not be able to use Barnsdales in the further. Can a butt be put at toilets where it was before? Flower group will not be using glasshouse this
year, only for storage.
Dejex still willing to sponsor and set up roundabout. Clerk to ascertain what permission is required from Highways.
