December 2021 Minutes

Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 2nd December 2021 at the Church Hall.

Present Cllrs Stanley, Abbott, Burdall, Hawkins,  Lovell, Lunn, Robinson, L & R Wray.  2 members of public and a press representative.


119/21 TO NOTE APOLOGIES were received and accepted from Cllrs King and Rollinson.

120/21 TO RECEIVE POLICE REPORT – nothing received

121/21 TO RECEIVE DECLARATION OF INTEREST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCALISM ACT 2011 none

122/21 TO RECEIVE AND APPROVE DRAFT NOTES OF LAST MEETING – It was resolved that these be signed as a true copy, to become minutes.  

123/21 TO RECEIVE CLERK’S UPDATE –   
Flinders park. The clerk had a meeting with BSIDB who confirmed the trees recently purchased for cover to neighbouring properties from play equipment could not be planted as they would be too close to the drain for their equipment to clear drains.  The clerk made the point that the drain had not been cleared for many years.  BSIDB to speak with IDEA regarding future works.
The clerk reported from Cllr King that works were to commence on toilet renovation and repairs.

124/21 TO DISCUSS/APPROVE PURCHASE OF PARKING BOLLARD IN MARKET PLACE
Three quotations were received of differing standards.  It was agreed with them all being industrial units the cheapest would be suitable for our needs, to be purchased and installed by the company.  Prop Cllr Hawkins seconded Cllr Lovell.

125/21 TO RECEIVE UPDATES FROM IDEA
Firework display a success.  Still looking for someone to take on as the editor of the newsletter.

126/21 TO RECEIVE AND APPROVE PAYMENTS OF ACCOUNTS – as per schedule 
It was resolved these be approved. Proposed Cllr Lovell seconded Cllr Hawkins.

127/21 TO RECEIVE LIBRARY UPDATE
Discussions still taking place regarding having use of the backroom and to be included in the lease.

128/21 TO DISCUSSED PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED 
H04-1156-21 additional 9 dwellings on Kilby Court.  Objections as over development of the site was a reason reduced originally.


129/21 TO RECEIVE MEMBERS REPORTS
PL – to purchase coloured lights for Christmas trees this year.
NB -request A152 from Barnes Road have 30 m.p.h. signs are written on road.  Could flashing warning signs be purchased with precept?
DH – re-opening of the station.  Cllr King and Chair to speak with gentleman wanting to get a group together to pursue this.
GL – noted that toilets were not being locked.  Clerk to speak with Mr. Lorimer. Light flickering, already reported.

130/21 TO RECEIVE CORRESPONDENCE 
Alex at Dejex has volunteered to spray off weeds in Market Place and to clean and repaint street furniture in New Year
